Last night, Sofia and I were watching a PBS thing on Alaska. It mostly focused on snowy owls. Mommy came down the hall and sat down at the top of the stairs to watch for a few moments, and fawned over the baby owls, which an adult owl was keeping warm. The baby owls kept poking their heads out from under the adult owl.

"Look, Sofia. Do you see the baby owls underneath the big owl?"

"Yeah. That's the daddy owl," Sofia said.

"How do you know that is the daddy? What if that is the mommy?"

"No. That's not the mommy."

"How do you know?"

"Cuz the mommy is at work."
